Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"EARLY BREAKFAST, From 07:30-13:00. Across from the Ajijic Hospital. Real butter, real maple syrup, fresh local fruits. Decaf coffee too. Some street noise, but that's part of life. Friendly staff, especially Ethan. I've been here 2 times in 3 days! Most of the main dishes are vegetarian, very smart having the meat "sides" as extras."
"Absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent, with special thanks to Ethan for being so kind, attentive, and welcoming. The food was delicious and the overall treatment made us feel truly well taken care of. Highly recommended. I will definitely be coming back"
"Clean and friendly vibe all around. Tucked away from the road and surrounded by agave planters, enjoy your meal outside on the terrace. I had an omelette and it was fresh and delish. Order the bacon on the side - it was inexpensive and perfectly cooked. Good coffee, too. A great start to my morning in Ajijic!"
"Great coffee, food, & location - with a cool patio space! Service was quick and very enthusiastic! No reason ‘not’ to return - often!"
"We came here for breakfast on a weekday. Nice amount of people here and we were still able to sit quickly. Our friendly server spoke much better English than my beginner Spanish. so ordering was easy. Nice menu, with just enough choices to be interesting and varied to bring you back again! Full espresso coffee menu to order from as well! We both had the Vegetable Omelette, with everything. Fresh veggies and cheese, very good flavors worked well together! The sliced tomato, bread and flavorful salsa added to the meal! The latte was very good and looked even better. Prices were very reasonable. We'll be back again soon to try the chilaquiles next!"
"Wonderful experience here! Cafe cargo is a cute, curbside breakfast spot with outdoor seating. Ethan ran the place like a pro and took excellent care of us. Coming back for breakfast tomorrow!"
"Great food, service and outdoor garden patio in the shade. Food was fresh and homemade. It looks very modern, chi chi, and Americano from the street but once inside it is warm and friendly with the charm of Mexico. I disliked beans but these I ate and even caught myself cleaning the plate with the last piece of toast I had remaining. All delish! We will be BACK!"
"Delicious breakfast! Uncle Brigham’s pancakes are amazing! Thin like a crepe and with so much flavor along with the artisan maple syrup! The waffles with berries were very good. We shared an order of crispy bacon which was delicious! Emmanuel, our waiter, was excellent and spoke very good English. The cafe is pet friendly and our dog enjoyed “people watching”"
